God’s New People

  • From the point of view of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Jewish people was rejected by Jehovah because it did not accept Jesus to be its Messiah. They refer to Matthew 23:37-24:3 and consider themselves as the new people of God and as the only religious community with the right faith. Furthermore, they reject all other Christian denominations as “counterfeit Christians”.
  • The Messiah, expected by the ancient Jews, was a powerful figure who would take over world domination and drive out or destroy any enemy of God’s people. Jesus in the Gospels, on the other hand, is rather the ridiculous opposite: Jesus failed at the cross.
